Broken tools and edge chipping are frequent troubles in stone fabrication, causing slab waste and higher production costs. These issues are not only caused by poor‑quality tools, but result from tool selection, clamping, processing parameters and cooling conditions.
Choose proper diamond saw blades or CNC tools for granite, quartz stone, marble and sintered stone. Fine‑segment blades are recommended for brittle sintered stone. Replace worn or segment‑lost blades in time.
Make sure tools are tightly mounted with minimal run‑out. Slabs shall be firmly supported and clamped without overhang. Check spindle and guideway clearance to reduce machine vibration.
Adjust spindle speed according to the blade manufacturer’s suggested linear speed. Avoid too‑fast feed rate which brings heavy impact to stone edges. Lower feed speed for fragile marble and sintered stone. Always test‑cut on waste material before mass production.
Ensure sufficient and even cooling‑water supply. Poor cooling leads to overheated tool segments, thermal cracks and chipping.
Troubleshoot step‑by‑step: tool condition → slab clamping → speed & feed → cooling water.

Proper operation and maintenance will effectively lower reject rate for your stone workshop.
